Lieutenant Thomas Burnet (ca.1810-1837)

A half-length portrait to the right showing Burnet in his lieutenant’s undress uniform, 1827–43 pattern.
Thomas Burnet received his lieutenant’s commission in January 1830. For the next six years he was engaged on surveying work in the Mediterranean in the 8-gun ‘Meteor’, which was renamed the ‘Beacon’ in 1831. He left her in 1836 and died shortly afterwards.
