Untitled watercolour of a lake
A watercolour of a lake surrounded by mountains with a couple of boats in the foreground, a building on the shore to the left of the picture and a small town on the edge of the lake and at the foot of the mountains in the middle of the picture.
In the bottom right hand corner of the back is written in pencil: 'Mai 1864'
Before that, in black ink: 'painted by M. Nicolas Karth.'
The Herschel children's governess at the time was a Mrs Karth, this presumably was painted by a male relative.
