Colonel Charles Daniel de Meuron (1738-1806) assembled a celebrated cabinet of curiosites (which included items from Cook's voyages) which he bequeathed to the city of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, thereby laying the foundations for the town's museums (except the Fine Arts museum).
Rudolf Hentzi (1731-1803), artist, draughtsman, tutor in the household of the Prince of Orange.
