The East Indiaman 'Sir David Scott' (study for the print by Huggins)
original art: drawing. Huggins's study for a related aquatint, published in 1833 (PAH8439), which was also retitled as showing the Indiaman 'George the Fourth (see PAH8481). All relate to large oil painting by Huggins exhibited at the the British Institution in 1832 identified as showing the 'David Scott' heading west into the Sunda Strait on her return from China in 1831. This was formerly in the Museum collection (BHC3638) but was deaccessioned in 1997 for condition reasons. [PvdM 101/9]
