The ship 'Helen Heilgers'
A 19th century depiction of the three-masted ‘Helen Heilgers' shown broadside-on and in full sail. Her name can be seen on the flag at the main mast. The headland on the right is the Great Orme as seen from the west looking towards Liverpool 40 miles off. In 1856 there was a collision between the ‘Helen Heilgers’ and the ‘Yeoman’ 25 September 1856 near Liverpool, in which both ships sank.
