Barham 28th October 1832

According to the inscription on the preceding page, this pen-and-wash drawing by James Kennett Wilson depicts the ‘Barham’ under sail in port-quarter view approaching the coast, dated 28th October 1832. On the verso, there is an inscription referring to the next drawing in the sketchbook, depicting the ‘Prince Lowitch’. This system of describing the depicted vessels on the preceding page of the actual drawing is prevalent throughout the sketchbook.
