Ship's badge HMS Orion 1932. Depiction of an armed male human figure. Official design. On a field blue, a half length figure in semi-classical dress holding a sword, all gold (painted incorrectly on this example). This is intended to represent the figurehead of 'Orion'. 'ORION' in name tablet. Pentagonal shape with rope twist border. Naval crown above. Pattern approved in January 1933. 'CMDR Hodges' in white paint on reverse.
