A circular bust-length portrait of George Rooke (c. 1650–1709) in a long wig and armour. Lettered beneath the image with the title, ‘Sr. George Rooke’, and the engraver’s name, ‘Benoist sculp.’ This print was engraved by Guillaume Philippe Benoist and published as an illustration in Tobias Smollett, ‘History of England from the Descent of Julius Caesar, to the Treaty of Aix la Chapelle, 1748’, 3rd edition (London: James Rivington, James Fletcher and R.
