A Tribute of Gratitude to British Valour and Intrepidity commemorating the glorious services of Admiral Lord Nelson who fell gloriously fighting for his Country Oct 21 1805

Picture transfer-printed on glass depicting a monument with an oval portrait of Nelson on the front, flanked by flags and other trophies. Two weeping cherubs and a figure representing Hope are placed above, there is a naval battle on the base. The monument is coloured with the left hand cherub holding a paper inscribed 'VICTORY 21 Oct 1805'. Flanking it are figures representing Britannia to the left and a weeping sailor on the right. Britannia has a trident, shield and lion but no helmet. On a ribbon behind the portrait 'HORATIO NELSON AET 47'. Inscribed below: 'A Tribute of Gratitude to British Valour and Intrepidity commemorating the glorious services of Admiral Lord Nelson who fell gloriously fighting for his Country Oct 21 1805.' The glass is mounted in a gilt, beaded wooden frame.
