Royal Humane Society Bronze medal, 1911. Obverse: A nude boy blowing on an extinguished torch which he shades with one hand, a short cloak blows out behind him. Legend: 'LATEAT SCINTITILLVLA FORSAN' (A little spark may yet lie hid). Exergue: 'SOC . LOND . IN RESVSCITAT . INTERMORTVORVM . INSTIT MSCCLXXIV'. Reverse: Within an oak wreath 'VIT . PERIC . EXPOS D .D . SOC . REG HVM.' Suspended from a blue silk ribbon. Awarded to Admiral Sir Dudley Pound (1877-1943) for attempting to rescue three men overcome by poisonous fumes aboard HMS 'Superb' on 30 June 1911.
