Long narrow blades, iron fastened at end. Loom widens into squared section deeply engraved "John+Avery" "(1750)". Narrow peg end. Signs of leather having been fastened below the squared section. A dolphin is painted in light blue with the head towards the end of each blade, glazed with dark transparent blue. The fins, eye and other details gilded over raised putty and emphasised with black lines. Dolphin painted over a brown glazed background with a bright blue border. Background to design pale blue, stained by the strong green overpaint.
