Cabin Class Drawing Room on the 'Missanabie' (1914)

Interior of the passenger liner 'Missanabie' (1914) showing the Cabin Class Drawing Room, on the Upper Promenade Deck (B Deck). A view from the starboard side, looking forward towards the fireplace and arch through to the Writing Recess.

The main Cabin Class rooms on the 'Missanabie' were designed by the architect George Abraham Crawley (1864-1926) and mostly decorated in the Georgian style. The work was carried out by Wylie & Lochhead Ltd, Glasgow.

On the wall can be seen reproductions of a portrait of Madame de Pompadour by Francois Boucher (the original is in the Alte Pinakothek, Munich), and a portrait of Marie-Antoinette by Vigée le Brun (the original is in Versailles).
