Kenneth Allan Guy was born in Kensington, the son of John Ferrers Guy. He entered the Navy on 15 May 1897. He was posted to the Far East in HMS 'Dido' during the Boxer rebellion of 1900-01.He was promoted Lieutenant on 30 September 1904 and Commander on 30 June 1918. At the end of World War 1 he served with the Caspian Flotilla under Commodore David Norris as part of the allied intervention in the Russian Civil War - the British has interests in the oil fields near Baku. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order for his command of the armed oil tanker 'Emile Noble' at the successful battle of Alexandrovsk 21 May 1919 against the Bolsheviks. Guy retired voluntarily in 1922 and was promoted Captain on the retired list in 1928. In 1939 he was living in Felixstowe and died in Suffolk three years later.
