Badge and star: Order of St Anne, 1st class (military) 1855-1917
Awarded to Admiral of the Fleet Sir Frederick Charles Doveton Sturdee (1859-1925). Badge: Red enamelled Maltese cross with gold edges. Between the angles of the arms of the cross are gold open-worked scrolls and swords. In the centre is a circular medallion of white enamel on which is portrayed the figure of St Anne with mountains in the background, the whole surrounded by a gold band. Reverse in white enamel 'A J P F' (motto Amatibus, Justiciam, Pietatem, Fidem). With sash of watered silk, scarlet with narrow yellow stripe near each edge. Star: Eight pointed silver star with red enamel cross in centre surrounded by red enamel band with legend: 'AMAN.JUST.PIET.FID.'
