Distinguished Service Cross
Distinguished Service Cross awarded to Commander H. J. P. Crousaz (1912-2000). The citation ‘For bravery and devotion to duty’ was published in the ‘London Gazette’ 26 May 1942. In 1942, Crousaz was serving on HMS ‘Kimberley’ as an Engineer Lieutenant. He had previously been Mentioned in Despatches while serving on HMS ‘Defender’ in 1941. The medal is in the form of a plain silver cross pattee, convexed. In the centre of the obverse is the Royal Cypher and on the reverse it is hallmarked. It is suspended from a blue ribbon with a central white stripe. The medal is mounted on a bar with five others: Atlantic Star (ZBA2253), Africa Star (ZBA2254), 1939-45 Star (ZBA2255), Defence Medal (ZBA2256) and Defence Medal with oak leaf (ZBA2257).
