Neger von Mozambique. Nègres de Mozambique

Between 1821 and 1846, Rugendas, a German artist, travelled extensively in South America. This lithograph, depicting tattoos on the faces of four people from Mozambique, is a later copy based upon a plate by Rugendas, originally published in Voyage pittoresque dans le Brésil (Engelmann & Cie, Paris, 1835).
