Rifle
Rifle owned by Admiral of the Fleet Lord Cunningham 1883-1963. The stock is fitted with a steel trigger guard and brass butt plate with hinged cap which covers a compartment bored into the butt to store cleaning equipment. Two loops for slings are also fitted - one at the fore-end and one at the butt. Bolt action, single shot lock. The barrel is rifled and fitted with a blade foresight and ramp rear sight with 'V' aperture graduated from 25-200 yards. The calibre is 0.22in. Inscribed on barrel: 'MADE BY/ THE BIRMINGHAM SMALLARMS Co LD/BIRMINGHAM 1908 MIN RIFLE W.O.PATT/R 475418/.22 LONG RIFLE/ 5340' Crown over 'BV' Crown over 'BM Crown' over BP Crown' over 'NP .22R'. On the butt: 'TRADE 3': crossed rifles and 'MARK' are inscribed. Also on muzzle: 'PARKER LED AGP'. The museum also holds Admiral Cunningham's City of London Presentation sword (reference WPN1292).
