Celestial pocket globe

Celestial pocket globe - case for the terrestrial pocket globe. Spherical case consists of two hinged hemispheres with two hook and eye clasps. It is lined with gores depicting celestial sphere. The projection of the celestial globe is geocentric but the constellations are seen from the back. The stars are represented by different symbols but there is no magnitude table. The Milky Way is labelled. The 48 Ptolemaic constellations and four of the non-Ptolemaic constellations are drawn. Four of the southern constellations are drawn, as well as those of Plancius and all those of Hevelius.
