Plate
Earthenware dinner plate, transfer-printed in brown with a decorative border and the rising sun crest of P&O (Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company Ltd) with their motto 'QUIS SEPARABIT'. The full maker's marks and the Royal arms are printed on the base. The plate belonged to Captain John Jones (1798-1876), a master in the merchant service.
