Walther PPK
Walther PPK presentation pistol. The stock consists of hard composite grips, the rest of the pistol is steel decorated with oak leaves.The butt incorporates the eight round magazine. The barrel is hidden by the cocking slide which takes up the whole of the top of the weapon. Semi-automatic, blowback action. The barrel is rifled. The pistol is fitted with a rear notch sight and a small blade foresight. The calibre is 7.65mm. It is in a box with a magazine, a cleaning rod and three rounds of ammuntion. Inscribed on the pistol is the serial number '293578K' and the maker's mark, 'Waffenfabrik Walther Zelia-Mehlis (Thur)' along with an eagle over 'M'. A compact and easily concealed weapon, this pistol was originally designed for detectives - PPK stands for Polizei Pistole Kriminal. It was later adopted by the Luftwaffe and German Staff Officers. This engraved example was a naval presentation piece to a German Naval Officer.
