Trunk
Trunk belonging to Commodore Henry Caldwell (1815-68). Pine, covered with leather attached by domed brass upholstery nails. Iron reinforcements at the corners, along the edges and across the lid. The nails on the lid run round the edges and in an oval in the middle, within which are the painted latters: 'H C'. A brass plate between the initials is inscribed: 'Captn H. Caldwell, 3 Audley Square.' The leather on the lid forms a flap round the edge. The leather straps and lock on the trunk are now missing.
