The Grand Fleet

An elevated starboard quarter view of HMS St Vincent (1908) at anchor. Crewmen can be seen mustered near the lee of the second funnel near the accommodation ladder, and there are steam launches moving between the larger ships. A launch is secured alongside near St Vincent's stern. A map of Europe has been painted on the rear face of 'Q' turret, either for instructional or briefing purposes. Beyond the ship are two unidentified light cruisers (the one on the right appears to be of the Caroline class). Off St Vincent's bow are the three battleships of the Bellerophon class. These ships comprised elements of the 1st and 4th Battle Squadrons.
