HMS Renown (1916)
A portside near beam view of the battlecruiser HMS Renown (1916) at Scapa Flow. She appears to be engaged in either weighing or dropping anchor, but it is not certain which. The vessel in the background to the left is an oil tanker in ballast. In the foreground is a 45ft steam pinnace. The identity of the ship from which the photograph was taken is uncertain, but is likely to be HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913).
