Gold double-link chain, of the fetter type (with long flattened links). On an attached label: 'Gold Chain presented to our Father the late Commander Richard Gunning Jeffreys Royal Navy, when serving as Midshipman on board H.M.S. "Undaunted" in 1814, by Napoleon Buonaparte when landing from that Ship at Elba: Saying on placing it over our Father's neck:- "Sois un brave Garçon". Lucy AB Johnson, nee Jeffreys, 15th July 1909.
