There are rough pencil landscape sketches by Stanfield in the front flyleaves, inc 'Castle Inn' (? Dover) and figure sketch apparently of a seated seaman in the back cover. In the rear is a rough sketched map of the Isle of Wight and Solent sketched. About 4 pages of writing have been torn out at front leaving undated note of expenses from London to Abbeville via Calais (Sunday); total for travel, dinner etc £18-10-6 in pencil by CS on next page. Remainder unused; 13 x 8cm blue paper boards, leather spine and corners. Sound, but rubbed. Nice period ‘travellers’ vade mecum', albeit little used.
