Australian aboriginal parrying shield. A long narrow shield with a hand grip carved at the back. The front is carved in diamond patterns. Collected by Sir John Franklin or his wife Jane, while he was governor of Van Diemens Land (Tasmania). It is mounted as part of a trophy.
