Badge: A gold crosslet enamelled blue, with rays of gold issuing from the angles and surmounted by two swords in saltire, the whole with a crown above. Obverse: in the centre, on a red enamelled medallion, an eagle displayed and crowned, gold within a blue enamelled band, edged gold. Legend: 'IN FIDE SALUS' surrounded by an oak wreath enamelled green. Reverse: On a red ground surrounded by an oak wreath enamelled green, the cypher 'C.I.' (Carol I) crowned in gold. Suspended from a sash of red moire ribbon with two blue stripes near the edges.
