Gaiters
Used on Nares' Arctic expedition 1875. Belonged to Lieutenant A A C Parr, HMS "Alert". A canvas area to cover the shoes, closed with eyelets. Straps under the instep. Leggings of blue and white striped cotton with drawstrings below the knees.
