H.M.S. Vernon Training Establishment 1904-13
A lightly scuffed blue/green cloth covered album containing 139 glued b/w photographs with contemporary pencilled captions. They are in various formats (from 18 per page to one per page) and printed on different supports (fibre or glossy paper).
It includes images of:
- the Vernon Cycle Club and its outings to Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
- H.M.S. St-Vincent (1815), H.M.S. Victory (1765), ex-H.M.S. Marlborough, ex-H.M.S. Warrior, ex-H.M.S. Adriadne, ex-H.M.S. Donegal and the launch of H.M.S. Dreadnought (1906) and torpedo explosions with H.M.S. Vernon's badge.
- Ceylon (similar to those found in Album 319 "The Cruise of H.M.S. Ophir 1901") showing locals (veddahs), buddhist processions, etc.
- the Royal Tour to India in 1906 on board H.M.S Renown (1895).
- Imperial and Summer palaces in Peking.
- the Royal Australian Train.
- topographical subjects such as Monte Carlo, Nice, Malta, Madeira, Karachi, Niagara Falls, Calcutta, Italy (castles)...
