Medal commemorating the Battle of Camperdown, 1797 and Admiral of the Fleet, Adam Duncan (1731-1804). Obverse: The Admiral's bust (three-quarter right), long hair, full uniform. Ribbon over left shoulder and Star of Bath; the King's gold medal round neck. Legend: 'LORD VIST . DUNCAN OF CAMPERDOWN'. Below: 'ADMIRAL OF THE BLUE'. Reverse: Britannia, the Ensign in left hand, the right holding a wreath and leaning on a rudder, seated on a rock, against which the Union shield. At her feet a lion, tearing Dutch and French flags. Legend: 'BRITANNIA TRIUMPHANT'. Exergue: 'DUTCH FLEET DEFEATD 11 SHIPS TAKEN OCTR . 11 . 1797.'
