Medal commemorating HMS 'Argonaut', China Station. Obverse: A very bare cherry tree. Right, five naval officers in a row; left, a large number of naval officers moving up in single file, all wearing frock-coats and caps. Legend (on a ribbon across foot of tree): 'SUB HOC CERESO MANEMUS' (Under this cherry tree we remain). Reverse: Foul anchor. Shield with Golden Fleece (left); shield with dragon (right). Legend: 'ARGONAUT CHINA 1900-1904'. Fitted with a ring and a cherry-coloured ribbon. Struck in honour of Captain Cherry, the commander, by his brother officers. Presented by Paymaster Captain W.J.A. Brown.
