Henry VII angel. Second issue. Obverse: The archangel St Michael, standing, facing, on the dragon which he pierces with his spear. Legend: 'hENRIC' . DI . GRA . REX . ANGL . Z . FRAN'. Reverse: Ship to right with mast in form of cross, surmounted by a top-castle. 'h' and a rose on either side of the mast. Royal arms at its base. Legend: 'PER . CRVCEM . TVA . SALVA . NOS . XPE . REDEM'. This is one group of nine gold coins found in the Greenwich Palace excavations of 1970-71, in the lower Grand Square of the Old Royal Naval College.
