Obverse: Bust of the Explorer (left) encircled by a wreath. Legend: 'PRESENTED BY THE ROYAL GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY FOR ARCTIC EXPLORATION 1893-1896'. Inscription: 'FRIDTJOF NANSEN'.
Reverse: Port broadside view of the three-masted vessel 'FRAM' fast in the ice, a scroll with her name above. Exergue: A kayak and paddle with an olive branch. Signed 'ALLAN WYON SC.'
