Marine Corps Service Medal 1911-1917
Obverse: Fortress with tower (San Juan de Ulloa at Vera Cruz), the sea below. Three cactus leaves to L and R between legend. Legend: "MEXICO 1911-1917". An eagle with wings outspread perched on an anchor; below a wreath of oak and bay tied witha bow. Legend: "UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS". Inscription: "FOR SERVICE". Inscription on edge: "2338". Fitted with a ring and a yellow ribbon bordered by a narrow green stripe with a central blue stripe.
