1914-15 Star
A uniface star of four points, the upper covered by a crown, with two crossed swords entwined by a short scroll. Inscription: '1914-15.' An oak garland superimposed upon the whole. Inscription: 'G' with a 'V' within it. Inscription Reverse: 'S.B.208 A.P.FISH. BOY. CK. R.N.R.' Fitted with a ring and red, white and blue watered-silk ribbon.
Arthur Price Fish (1898-1987) was born in Birkenhead and was resident in Great Yarmouth at the start of the Great War where his parents Benjamin and Mary Catherine (maiden name Price) ran a chemist's shop. He served in the RNR from 21 June 1915 as a boy cook and deck hand on trawlers and drifters operating as minsweepers. During the 1930s he had moved to South East London. He became he was a warder at National Maritime Museum. He died in Greenwich.
