Plate
Polychrome delftware plate, painted with a two masted vessel under sail. Inscription: 'DE HOFFNUNG', 'CARL GUSTAR DIENIES'. The vessel wears an ensign and jack intended for that of Danzig. The rudderhead is carved as a man's head. The plate is painted in blue with touches of yellow, orange and green; the border orange, yellow and green with some outlining in black.
