Combined Surveyor's Compass, Level and Inclinometer
Bowl-Dia. 3" (7.6cm) mounted at centre of wooden box and fitted with brass verge ring and a brass stud operating a card lifting mechanism.
Card-Dia. 2.75" (7cm) paper covered mica (?). White with black markings, graduated quadrantally in degrees. Fitted with a brass jewelled pivot cap at centre. At centre of card is a table of tangents.
Sights-Two brass sight vanes are mounted on base of box, one vane with a peep-hole sight and the other with a hole and cross wires.
Spirit level-Length 1.5" (3.8cm) mounted in right hand side of base of box.
Inclinometer-Brass quadrant 2.75" (7cm) radius graduated to 90 degs by 1o and fitted with a brass index arm 2.3" (6cm) long. Mounted in lid of box.
