Royal Charlotte (1750)
Scale 1:24. A drawing showing a plan of the King's apartments on the Royal yacht Royal Charlotte (1750), made at Deptford Dockyard and dated 15 May 1801. With a note in pencil: 'A copy was given to Sir Andrew Hamond 15th May'. The reverse has: 'Plan of the King's Apartments on board the Charlotte Yacht'.
The plan does not show any furniture, only the cabin, stateroom and bedroom, with the areas for bed, table and lavatory ('necessary') indicated. This vessel was originally laucnhed as the sixth rate ship of the line Royal Caroline. It was converted into a yacht andin 1761 and renamed Royal Charlotte.
