Contract for twelve Gunboats of the the Dapper Class (1855)

A 15 page contract for twelve Gunboats of the Dapper Class (1855) [Thistle, Starling, Snap, Redwing, Weazel, Clinker, Cracker, Boxer, Stork, Skylark, Biter and Swinger] between the Admiralty and William Pitcher of Northfleet in the County of Kent, dated 6 October 1854 and unsigned.
Dimensions are the same for both Dapper Class and Albacor Class but:
- the date of the contract is exactly the same as the date of order of these boats
- William Pitcher built exactly 12 boats of the Dapper Class (on the other hand he built 20 boats of the Albacore Class, all ordered in 1855).
