Certificate for Wounds and Hurts 7 September 1864. Thomas Pride was wounded on board HMS Euryalus by a musket ball which entered beneath the left clavicle injuring the brachial plexus and passing through the body of the scapula, paralysing the left upper extremity. This was done storming the Straits Shimonoseki
