Plate
A delftware wall plate with a thick white glaze. It is hand-painted in colour with a portrait of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) in uniform and a cocked hat wearing two medals with male and female miniatures. The front of the plate is inscribed '1805 AMIRAL NELSON'. It has an indented rim and a border of painted butterflies. The foot is pierced with two holes for suspension. the maker's initials are painted on the base.
