Letters dated 1 January 1900 to 23 September 1900 from Hubert Edward Dannreuther to his mother sent while a midshipman at Sydney and Hobart in HMS ROYAL ARTHUR, the flag ship of the Australian Station and also including letters sent while in HMS EUROPA on his journey back to Portsmouth via Albany, Batavia, Ceylon, Port Said and Malta. These letters include references to the bubonic plague in Sydney and to the Boer War.
