Alterations and additions are shown in sienna ink on the plan. The drawing bears the signatures of William B. Robinson [Master Shipwright of Portsmouth Dockyard 1869-1881, name changed to Chief Constructor in 1875] dated 31 January 1879 and H. E. Deadman [Chief Constructor of Portsmouth Dockyard 1886-1892] dated 1 May 1888. There are two signatures in the bottom left corner of the plan.
