Prince of Wales (1908) off Gravesend
A 12x10 negative. A distant port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the pilot and towing launch Prince of Wales (1908) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. Beyond her is the Ring tug Florida (1902), also seen from ahead of her port beam. An open motor workboat is at anchor between the Prince of Wales (1908) and the shore. The bow of the Alexander tug Sun IX (1920) is on the right. The photographer is looking across the river from the Gravesend shore towards Tilbury Fort with the Watergate in the left background. The hull of a spritsail barge is beached in front of the fort. it has a P.L.A. wreck flag on it and a wreck bawley is moored offshore.
