A plan of the posts of York and Gloucester in the Province of Virginia, established by His Majesty's army under the command of Lieut. General Earl Cornwallis, together with the attacks and operations of the American & French forces commanded by General Washington and the Count of Rochambeau, which terminated in the surrender of the said posts and army on the 17th of October 1781. Surveyed by Capt. Fage of the Royal Artillery.

Contents Note: An overlay shows the position of the army on 28th and 29th September 1781, Contains an inset chart of the entrances to Chesapeake Bay [ca. 1:250 000], A British frigate, the Charon, is shown on fire on 10th October. There is one example of this chart in the collection. Imprint 4th June 1782. Shows roads, buildings, relief and cultivation. Printed on Bates paper. Border yellow, land tinted brown. Fortifications, positions, flags and burning ship coloured.
