Dish
A white, oval ironstone china meat dish, printed with shamrock decoration around the edge. In the centre, a shield with a rampant lion, surrounded by a garter belt inscribed 'FALL RIVER LINE'. The Fall River Line ran steamers on a combined rail and sea route between Boston and New York, opened in 1847. The maker's mark is printed on the base 'MANUFACTURED BY G L ASHWORTH & BROS HANLEY FOR RICHARD BRIGGS BOSTON'.
