The hull, which is clinker construction, is painted creamy white below the waterline with the upper hull, upperworks (except for the end cabin) and decks finished in natural varnished wood with the decks scored and inked to resemble planking. The living accommodation immediately aft of the cargo hold is painted a creamy white together with a bottle green roof and doors. The single piece mast is largely varnished natural wood with a black base and a multi-coloured top consisting of red, black, white, blue and green. It is set with a large black loose-footed gaff rig sail which is complete with a bonnet laced to its lower edge. The foredeck is complete with a wooden casing to allow the mainmast and rig to be dropped by means of a pivoting tabernacle and a large hand windlass, when shooting bridges. Other distinguishing features include a large rectangular rudder with tiller, a single forestay, a black and red pennant atop the mast and a creamy white quarter circle at the bow. The whole model is mounted on a pair of wooden crutches connected by a crosspiece.
