Norfolk wherry
Scale: not calculated. The Norfolk wherry is a shallow draught, decked sailing vessel used for the transport of small quantities of cargo on the Norfolk Broads in England. They are wide in relation to their length. With its black two-piece mainsail, the model is very striking. The sleek lines of the vessel are accentuated by the long rectangular rudder. The well in front of the single mast enabled it to be lowered by tipping it forwards, allowing the vessel to pass underneath bridges. The mast is stepped on the deck and is held in place by a lutchet on which it pivots.
