On label: "Lifeboat proposed by Mr G Turner, Master Shipwright of HM Dockyard, Woolwich in 1851. Extra buoyancy obtained by a W.T. Deck and raised air chambers. Means of freeing boat of water are by four scuppers. This boat would not self-right if upset in a sea-way". Submitted for Duke of North..? Premium in 1851.
