Queen (1839); Royal Frederick (cancelled 1848); Victoria (cancelled 1848); Algiers (cancelled 1840); Prince of Wales (cancelled 1848)

Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the bow side elevation and plan, stern side elevation and plan, and body plan originally for four ships of the Queen class. The plan reflects the complicated nature of name transfer between ship hulls and ship designs. The original ships relevant to this plan are Queen (1839), then known by her construction name of Royal Frederick, Royal Frederick (cancelled 1848) under her first name of Royal Sovereign, Victoria (cancelled 1848) prior to being re-ordered to a modified design, and Algiers (cancelled 1840), before she was re-ordered as a 90-gun two-decker. The plan was altered in 1842 and became relevant to Royal Frederick (ex Royal Sovereign) and Victoria only. The plan included alterations to the rake of the stern for Royal Frederick and Prince of Wales (cancelled 1848), and alterations based on the model sent to the dockyard for Royal Frederick, to be conformed to as close as circumstances would allow.

Signed by William Symonds [Surveyor of the Navy, 1832-1848].
